ABOUT US.

A few words about the Walsh Podiatry team.

Dean and Jenny Walsh

We thought if you are going to trust us with your foot health, you might like to know a bit about us first.

This is my wife Jenny and I. We have been married since 1992 and have three children.

I qualified in 1992 and initially worked in the NHS in hospitals and clinics throughout the Dudley area. My main areas of clinical interest and expertise are biomechanics and orthotics (insoles to help correct foot function). The experience I gained in the NHS helped me set up my private practice. When I started the practice Jenny quickly saw I needed help in the administration area, and left her job to help develop our practice. With Jenny taking on the role of practice manager and me being the Principle Podiatrist together we have built a practice we are extremely proud of.

Away from work I am learning to Sail (although some would say swim as I spend more time in the water than on the boat at the moment), I enjoy squash and jogging although there never seems enough hours in the day. Jenny and me enjoy walking whenever possible in the country, especially when we can combine it with a pub lunch on a nice day!

Our Children are fast growing up and starting to make their own way in the world. Its great to spend time with them whenever possible, and holidays with them are always something we look forward to.

Jenny is practice manager and basically handles everything that isn’t directly related to treating patients. From welcoming patients with a cup of tea to preparing the books, she knows the business inside and out and is essential to its smooth running. She works in the practice part time and also runs an out of school club at our local primary school.

On the qualifications side I have a BSc in Podiatry, and have done multiple courses since my qualification in biomechanics, sports podiatry and other subjects including local anaesthesia, prescribing medicines, steroid injection thereapy, ultrasound imaging and guided injections and paediatrics. I am registered with the Health Care Professionals council and the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists plus the Institute of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.  I am a also a member of the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow and regularly attend CPD meetings to keep my knowledge up to date and current.

Together Jenny and I have hand picked our Podiatrists and reception team to make sure you get the best experience possible when you come to see us. We thought you might like to find out a bit about them too.

Before we start though you should know that all of our Podiatrists are HCPC registered.

When you put trust in a Podiatrist for advice and treatment its good to know you are attending a well established practice and the Podiatrists there are experts in their field. Our Podiatry team has a wealth of knowledge and experience to help you literally get back on your feet.

I qualified in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science with Honours from the Birmingham School of Podiatry. Previously, before joining Walsh Podiatry I worked at a private clinic in Sutton Coldfield. I decided on a career in Podiatry as I enjoy the satisfaction you get when you make somebody feel better. Also, I am a bit of a chatterbox so love chatting to and getting to know people! In my spare time I enjoy watching football and try and get down to Villa park to watch them play live. I am a huge fan of musical theatre and go whenever I can.

Hi, I’m Alex I have been qualified in podiatry since 2020 from the school of podiatry at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Before working at Walsh Podiatry, I worked in a private practice in Coventry, but always wanted to be closer to home. The reason I enjoy podiatry is when I was little I had very bad in growing toenails, so I wanted to learn how they are fixed and how to make people not be in pain with their feet. I also really like getting to know people and always love a good chat!

In my spare time when I’m not at walsh podiatry you can find me drinking a cup of tea, baking and spending time with my family and friends.

I look forward to seeing you all soon! 😊

Hi I’m Myra, the new addition to the great team.

My interest in choosing this career was based on how good foot health can change a persons quality of life for the better. Also I am a great people person and enjoy to make people smile by helping and caring for them.

In my spare time I like to bake, cook and spend time with family and friends.
