Flat is bad

Flat is bad!Walsh Podiatry Birmingham - flat is bad

Flat shoes are not always good for us, especially if worn for long periods.

There has been a recent fashion trend for flat shoes especially the very flat ‘Dolly’ type shoes or flip flops. This has been especially for girls and ladies, but also men in flat moulded sole trainers. The very flat nature of these shoes gives our feet a problem when we wear them for long periods. It is not uncommon for people to complain of arch strain or calf strain amongst other problems after wearing this type of shoe for a length of time.

Pain relief without drugs or needles, great!

Mrs Linda Nicholls

” I have been going to Dean Walsh 11 years, in all of that time I have always been totally impressed with the service he offers. 6 years ago I got Neuromas in both feet which were very painful. I have been attending an NHS Podiatrist but was always told to go to outdoor specialists, even though a fortune was spent – no relief. Then Dean took over and what a difference.

I had an assessment, got measured for Orthotics and Dean measured my feet for new trainers that had the depth for the Orthotics. For the first time in 6 years I can honestly say I am walking on air – literally! I can not thank Dean enough and an added bonus is that he is now getting me some sandals for the summer with Orthotics!! This will allow me to go out during the summer in sandals and not experience excruciating pain. Jenny and Julie provide excellent customer care as they sort out my appointments ( I have a head like a sieve!!) They ring me to remind me the day before my appointment is due and also on the day! You don’t get that service very often. So all you people out there who may be suffering with your feet – go along and meet the team, they are polite, curtious and very helpful, always willing to “Go the extra mile” for you. Thank you all Walsh Chiropody/Podiatry Ltd from a very satisfied customer!” • • •

Foot Mobilisation Therapy for hip pain

Mr John O’Meara’

‘After nearly 50 years of running, 30 of them competitively, the mechanical consequences of having one leg shorter than the other had become almost overwhelming – constant injuries in the calves and lower back. I was about to give up running altogether. Dean Walsh was  able to pinpoint the sources of the problems, and then create custom made orthotic insoles for my running shoes. These have enabled me to continue running with no more risk of injury than I had in my youth.
